The best thing – That pass rush

Last year at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings sacked Matthew Stafford ten times on their way to a convincing win. This year didn’t see that kind of numbers stack up for the defense, but they definitely got the job done.

Much credit for the pass rush has to go to Danielle Hunter, who brought down David Blough three times. His pass rush moves and persistence paid off in a big way during this game, as he consistently got pressure and disrupted the passing game of the Lions.

Everson Griffen and Jaleel Johnson each added a sack as well, proving that this defensive line of Minnesota can attack from anywhere at any given time. The Vikings didn’t really attack too much on blitzes during this game, as they didn’t need to with the production from their line.

The pass rush has been a consistently good part of the team’s defense in the past few years and that unit will look to be a major factor in getting wins during their final three games of the season. And with guys like Hunter and Griffen involved, there’s a good chance Minnesota will be just fine in taking down quarterbacks.
