7 takeaways from the Vikings win over the Lions in Week 14
By Adam Patrick
Vikings likely won’t see Patricia leading the Lions in 2020
When Detroit brought in Matt Patricia to be their new head coach last year, the hope was that he would help in getting the franchise to achieve consistent success. However, since Patricia’s hiring, the Lions have just been taking steps backward.
Under their current head coach, Detroit has only won 32.8 percent of their games and zero of these victories have come against the Vikings. In four matchups with the Lions since Patricia took over last season, Minnesota has come out with a win by at least 12 points every time.
Detroit also doesn’t have any victories against the Chicago Bears during the last two years either. To go 0-8 against two divisional opponents during your first two seasons as a head coach isn’t exactly the recipe to stick around.
It would be incredibly surprising if Detroit kept Patricia as their head coach for 2020. But if they do, no one from the Vikings would be complaining.
