Bryce Hall – CB (Virginia)

Bryce Hall is a senior cornerback for the Virginia Cavaliers. He’s from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and went high school as LeSean McCoy, Bishop McDevitt High School. Coming out of high school where Hall played both wide receiver and corner, he was rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals, Scout and 247sports. For a lower level recruit, Hall displayed his ability in his senior season of high school. He had 54 receptions and 1108 receiving yards.

Hall was making an impact the second he stepped on the field for the first time in a Cavaliers jersey. He appeared in all 12 of Virginia’s games and made seven starts. He had two interceptions on the year and even recovered a fumble. In his sophomore year, Hall started all 13 games. He had 47 tackles, three of which were for a loss. He had just the one interception, but he had eight passes defended.

Hall’s junior year is when he really was at his best. He had a career-high 62 total tackles and two interceptions while also having 21 passes defended and one fumble recovery. He came into his senior season with high aspirations but unfortunately suffered a lower-body injury that ultimately will hurt his draft stock this year.

For being a team that prides itself on defense, the Vikings haven’t been that team that offenses are afraid of facing this year. Xavier Rhodes is not what he once was. He consistently needs help over the top, and Trae Waynes can’t be left hung out to dry due to his lack of superiority.

They need some help in the secondary to provide depth and not only that, needs to provide the ability to start and lock down receivers. Hall can provide that for this team and will be exactly what Zimmer is looking for to help this defense.

Hall had the potential of being a later first-round pick before his injury and he still might be selected there. But because of the injury, the Vikings could snatch him up in the second round which will be one heck of a steal for this high-caliber of a player.
