The NFC playoff race continues to tighten up and as the Minnesota Vikings look to earn their spot in the field, there are plenty of games that have consequences.
This is the time of year that will give fans anxiety. For Minnesota Vikings fans, in particular, the final weeks of the regular season have resulted in the temporary joy of getting into the playoffs or excruciating pain of watching Nate Poole catch a fluke touchdown to send them to an early offseason.
After last year’s scenario saw the Vikings chasing a playoff spot in the final weeks of the season, Minnesota enters Week 15 in a much better scenario. Although all the Vikings had to do was win their final three games to get into the playoffs last year, this season’s team sits in the same spot, but has an opportunity to enhance their positioning and even secure a first-round bye.
The Vikings will have a tougher test than meets the eye when they battle the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but several games around the league will also have an impact on not only where Minnesota stands to enter the final weeks of the season, but potentially where they could go when the playoffs kick off in just a couple of short weeks.
With multiple Thursday games and byes out of the way, it should be a busy Sunday for Vikings fans as they look to complete their march back to the playoffs.
