Bailey delivers another strong performance

After his day began by missing an extra point attempt, Vikings kicker Dan Bailey was able to settle down and quickly get back on track. Bailey converted on his three other extra point tries against the Chargers and he also made all four of his field goal attempts.

The Minnesota kicker finished Sunday with a total of 15 points, the most he has ever scored in a purple and gold uniform since he signed with the team last season.

Even though Bailey missed his fourth extra point attempt of the year this week, he has now also made 22 of his 24 field goal tries this year (91.6 percent). When it comes time for Minnesota to take on tougher teams in the postseason in a few weeks, their kicker’s impressive performance this year will likely come in handy.

With his strong day in Los Angeles, it also seems very possible that Bailey could be named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Despite his success this year though, don’t even think for a second that Vikings fans still aren’t nervous every time their kicker takes the field. It’s not a knock on Bailey, it just comes with the uniform.
