Offensive MVP – Mike Boone, running back
This game saw the Minnesota Vikings really struggle at the running back position. Alexander Mattison was already sitting the game out with a foot injury and Dalvin Cook was forced to leave the game close to halftime.
That meant it was time for Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah to step up. Boone hadn’t been part of a game where he carried the ball more than five times in his career until this game against the Chargers, where he registered 13 carries for 56 yards.
Boone had both of the Vikings rushing touchdowns in this game, both coming thanks to some hard running within ten yards of the goal line in the fourth quarter. Those scores widened the gap, increasing Minnesota’s chances of walking out of California with a win.
