Defensive MVP – Ifeadi Odenigbo, defensive end

First of all, it needs to be said that Ifeadi Odenigbo isn’t a starter. He is a rotational or situational player who has been earning more time in a Mike Zimmer defense. This week, he continued to prove his worth to the team, no matter how they decide to use him.

He only had two tackles on the day, but it was a lot of what he did as far as extra things that make him so valuable. One of those tackles was a sack that really helped the Vikings. However, that won’t be his highlight from the game.

After a Philip Rivers fumble, Eric Kendricks took out the Chargers player going after the ball. The next closest player to the ball was Odenigbo, who picked up the football and rumbled for 56 yards down the field for a touchdown.

Having Danielle Hunter out in front of him as a blocker, Odenigbo’s second-quarter touchdown came within the last minute of the game, giving Minnesota a 17-10 lead and was the first touchdown in the team’s 30 unanswered scores.
