6 worst Minnesota Vikings moments from the past decade

5. Freeman forgets how to pass (2013)
A year after earning a spot in the playoffs, the Vikings start to the 2013 season didn’t exactly turn out how they had hoped.
Minnesota dropped four of their first five games and they were in desperate need of something to their season back on track. So the Vikings went out and signed free-agent quarterback Josh Freeman, who had just been let go by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Freeman was coming off a 2012 campaign that saw him throw for 4,065 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. Minnesota apparently felt the young quarterback still had plenty of potential left and they decided to give him a shot.
The problem was that the Vikings were in a hurry to turn their season around and they rushed Freeman into the starting lineup less than two weeks after adding him to their roster.
Unsurprisingly, the results of Minnesota’s rushed decision didn’t turn out that great. Freeman started under center for the Vikings in their Week 7 loss to the New York Giants and during the contest, he completed just 20 of his 53 pass attempts (38 percent) for 190 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.
It was arguably the worst performance by a Minnesota quarterback during the last decade and this is saying something since the franchise has seen some terrible play from numerous signal-callers over the last few years.
Did the Vikings ruin any chance for Freeman to do well in 2013 by rushing him out on the field? Probably, but the likelihood of him experiencing any sort of success that season wasn’t really that high to begin with.
