6 worst Minnesota Vikings moments from the past decade

3. Teddy nearly loses his leg (2016)
Coming off his first full season as the Vikings starting quarterback that resulted in a playoff appearance, Teddy Bridgewater was hoping to lead the team to even bigger things in 2016.
Bridgewater had a great offseason, training camp, and preseason in 2016 and he seemed ready to take the next step in his progression as a quarterback. However, something else had other plans for the young passer in 2016.
During a Minnesota practice on the afternoon of August 30, Bridgewater went down in agony with a non-contact injury to his left leg. Vikings trainers and medical staff had to bolt onto the field to prevent the quarterback from causing any further damage which could have potentially resulted in part of his leg needing to be removed.
Bridgewater was rushed to a local hospital and he eventually underwent surgery to repair a dislocated knee and a torn ACL. The doctor who performed his surgery later called his injury, “the worst knee dislocation in sports,” he had ever seen.
Despite Bridgewater’s terrible injury, Minnesota still had to continue on with their 2016 season and, unfortunately, it didn’t result in a return to the playoffs.
