The Minnesota Vikings will look to keep their division championship hopes alive when they face off with the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.

After last week’s win in Los Angeles, the Minnesota Vikings are on the verge of a berth in the 2019 playoffs.

Unlike last year when the Philadelphia Eagles were breathing down their neck, the Vikings have a cushion to force their way into a loaded NFC playoff picture this season. One more Minnesota win or a loss by the Los Angeles Rams will send the Vikings to extra football in January for the third time in Mike Zimmer’s tenure as head coach.

If the Rams lose to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night, the Vikings may have their eyes toward their potential playoff run. However, with a divisional rivalry against the Green Bay Packers taking center stage, Minnesota will also look to keep their slim NFC North title hopes alive this week.

A win against the Packers would give the Vikings an identical record of 11-4 heading into the final week of the season and although the Detroit Lions (Green Bay’s opponent in Week 17) have reached full dumpster fire status, stranger things have happened when it comes to division titles. That’s why Monday’s matchup could be the most important game of the year for Minnesota.
