The Minnesota Vikings will be lacking some firepower at one certain position, as the injury report for Week 16 against the Packers is quite focused.

Week 16 of the 2019 NFL season started on Saturday, but fans of the Minnesota Vikings still have to wait until Monday Night Football to see how they perform against the Green Bay Packers under the lights at U.S. Bank Stadium.

These are important games for the Vikings. Winning increases their chances of staying in the playoff picture and gives them confidence heading into the final game of the regular season with momentum and focus.

Sadly, Minnesota won’t be at full strength. One of their star players will need to sit this game out while the backup at the position has his status up in the air. Let’s check out the injury report for Week 16 as shared on the official website of the purple and gold:

Minnesota Vikings

RULED OUT

DOUBTFUL

QUESTIONABLE

With Cook out and Mattison questionable, the Vikings have to be preparing for a heavy dose of Mike Bonne with some help from Ameer Abdullah. Boone has flashed in previous preseasons and played well last week when his number was called.

The Packers would be foolish to not treat the Vikings run game with respect. Even without their star or the rookie, if Green Bay focuses on taking away Thielen or Diggs, the run game could surprise those who are sleeping on the talent the Vikings have at the position.

Green Bay Packers

RULED OUT

  • Yosh Nijman, tackle – Elbow/Triceps

DOUBTFUL

  • – none –

QUESTIONABLE

The Vikings should expect the Packers to be at full strength, or at least as close as possible to full health at this point in the season. Lowry is a starter for the Packers and if he can’t go, Montravius Adams should handle that duty in his place.

Otherwise, the young defense and explosive offense of the Packers will be ready to take on the Vikings. Green Bay has confirmed their place in the postseason, but they would likely enjoy knocking a division rival out of the playoffs.
