Cousins’ improved play

The Vikings spent a lot of money to get Kirk Cousins to join their team in 2018 and be their franchise quarterback.

After his first season in purple when the team finished 8-7-1, it looked like they may have overpaid. But after year two, it’s looking like a bargain.

Cousins has been amazing for Minnesota this season. He has put the offense on his back and is a huge reason why the Vikings are in the playoffs. He did have a rough start to the season and fans were again beginning to question whether or not he is the answer, but now they should have no doubt. Cousins has thrown for over 3,500 yards this season and has made excellent decisions with the football.

The most impressive part about Cousins’ season is that he was without one of his top receivers for a large chunk of the season in Adam Thielen. He adjusted to Thielen’s loss by spreading the ball around to numerous targets and utilizing just about every weapon Minnesota’s offense has.

Cousins has brought this Vikings back from huge deficits and also been able to win in big spots on National TV. He’s doing things he hasn’t ever done before and he has truly become the leader of Minnesota’s offense.

Cousins was an expensive present the Vikings bought for themselves back in 2018. After year two, he’s showing why the team gave up so much money to get him here and his impressive play has been one of the greatest gifts this team could’ve ever received.
