Former Vikings offensive lineman among Hall of Fame finalists for 2020

There may be some purple and gold heading into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020 as a former blocker for the Minnesota Vikings is among the finalists.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio has a lot of attractions fans of the Minnesota Vikings. There are many exhibits featuring great players and great moments from the history of the purple and gold as well as other franchises.
Each year, another group of NFL greats is inducted to be among the best to ever play the game and one of the elite linemen in recent history will have another opportunity to get his gold jacket in 2020.
Here is the tweet from the official Twitter account of the Pro Football Hall of Fame announcing the modern-era finalist:
Steve Hutchinson played from 2001 through 2012, helping to pave the way for Shaun Alexander, Adrian Peterson, and Chris Johnson.
Alexander had the best rushing season of his career with Hutch on his offensive line, posting a 1,880-yard season in 2005. In fact, the five seasons he spent in Seattle with Alexander all resulted in 1,000+ yard rushing seasons for his star running back. That milestone became the norm for Hutch, as there was only one season he didn’t have an individual running back reach that mark.
Just to show how crazy that is, here is a breakdown of rushing seasons over his 11-year career:
- 1,000-yard rushers – 10
- 1.250-yard rushers- 8
- 1,500-yard rushers – 3
There is no denying the impact Steve Hutchinson could have on a game. His dominance as both a road-grading run blocker and an excellent pass protector should place him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Last year, Hutchinson was a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame but fell short of induction. This could finally be the year his amazing career with the Seahawks, Vikings, and Titans is honored and his name is mentioned with the best to ever play the game.
