For Stefanski to take more chances

"“You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take. – Wayne Gretzky” – Michael Scott"

2020 is a new year and a blank canvas. A lot of the time, we let our own thoughts get in the way and we’re afraid to shoot our shot. It takes too much time, we have to move, we could face a negative consequence, but sometimes it’s best just to take that leap and deal with that later.

This is exactly the mindset that Kevin Stefanski should have heading into the game against New Orleans. Over the past couple of week’s Stefanski’s gameplans have been erring on the side of being conservative and it ultimately cost the team the race for the NFC North title (and a home playoff game) in Week 16.

Overall, the Vikings offensive coordinator has done a great job overhauling the offense. But against the Los Angeles Chargers and Packers, it seemed like he was too reliant on pounding the ball into the middle of the opposing team’s defense in order to not make a mistake.

With this leaking into the passing game where C.J. Ham (7) and Ameer Abdullah (9) have as many or more targets than Adam Thielen (7) over the past two games, something needs to get this group going.

A better gameplan could help and with Minnesota likely needing to keep pace with a Saints offense that has scored 28.6 points per game this season, Stefanski is going to need to pull out all the stops.
