Everyone seems to be counting them out, but there are a number of reasons to believe the Minnesota Vikings will get a playoff win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

For the third time in the last five seasons, the Minnesota Vikings will be playing in a meaningful game after Week 17. The Vikings are back in the playoffs this year and their quest to the Super Bowl is going to be a tough one as they are the lowest seed in the NFC.

On Sunday, Minnesota will step onto the field inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to take on the New Orleans Saints. The Saints finished the regular season with a 13-3 record and they are viewed by many as a favorite to represent the NFC in this year’s Super Bowl.

There are a bunch of storylines heading into Sunday’s matchup between the Vikings and Saints. Minnesota has had to hear all week about Kirk Cousins’ lack of big-time wins and what the future might hold for Mike Zimmer if the Vikings fail in New Orleans. On the other sideline, the Saints are tired of being asked questions about the ending of their last playoff matchup against Minnesota (that miraculous one).

Both teams will have something to prove on Sunday and most are assuming New Orleans is just going to walk away with an easy victory. However, there are a few reasons to believe that it will actually be the Vikings who leave the Superdome with an upset.
