Nick Bosa – DE

In 2019, Nick Bosa has performed more like a grizzled veteran than a rookie in his very first season in the NFL.

Bosa has appeared in 16 games for the 49ers this year and it resulted in him leading the defense in pressures (45), hurries (24), and quarterback knockdowns (12). He also accumulated nine sacks this season, which was good enough to be the second-most among San Francisco defenders in 2019.

The Vikings’ offensive line performed fairly well last week against the Saints. Minnesota’s blockers allowed three sacks, but Kirk Cousins was only pressured seven times during the entire game by the New Orleans defense.

If the Vikings are going to slow down Bosa and his fellow 49ers pass-rushers like Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner, Minnesota offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski will need to call some plays to get the ball out of Cousins’ hands quickly and others that have his quarterback roll out to avoid him getting pummeled inside the pocket.
