The best thing – Not a Pro Bowl player?

It’s still astounding that Eric Kendricks was not named for the Pro Bowl. Although the linebacker was a first-team All-Pro selection, he continued to show why the Pro Bowl process is a joke by making some big plays in this game.

Of course, the play most fans will remember is how he got up to intercept a Jimmy Garoppolo pass in the first quarter to give the ball back to Minnesota when there was still some hope the Vikings could be competitive.

Kendricks tied for second among Minnesota defenders with eight total tackles, four of those takedowns being solo. He also stopped another Jimmy G. pass to give him two pass defenses in the contest.

In a playoff game where there weren’t a lot of highlights, the play of Kendricks has to be considered a bright spot. It’s nice to know the Vikings have him under contract through the 2023 NFL season.
