After a disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, what are some of the biggest takeaways from the performance of the Minnesota Vikings this season?

Heading into the season, the expectations weren’t nearly as high for the Minnesota Vikings as they were a year ago. However, many still felt the 2019 Vikings had the talent to potentially contend for a championship.

In the end though, Minnesota just didn’t have enough in the tank to compete with the top teams in the NFL. This was made loud and clear on Saturday when the Vikings’ season came to an end after a 27-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in a divisional round playoff matchup.

How will 2019 be remembered for Minnesota? Will people look back on it and just view it as another lost opportunity? Or will some view it as a productive campaign for the Vikings that saw the team take some steps in the right direction?

No matter how it’s viewed, it won’t be deemed a success by anyone within the organization since it didn’t end with the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl win.

So now that the initial disappointment from Saturday’s loss has seemed to wear off, let’s look back at Minnesota’s entire 2019 season and go over some of the biggest takeaways from the last few months.
