7 takeaways from the Minnesota Vikings 2019 season

Annual tradition of offensive musical chairs will continue
Unless an old friend is brought back, the Vikings will begin the 2020 season with their fifth different offensive coordinator in the last five years thanks to Kevin Stefanski deciding to take the Cleveland Brown’s offer to be their head coach on Sunday.
The hope on either side of the ball is to always have some sort of continuity. But with Stefanski being the latest to give up the play-card, there’s no guarantee that Minnesota will stick with the same offensive system in 2020.
Ideally, the Vikings would probably just like to promote either Gary Kubiak, Klint Kubiak, or Rick Dennison to be their next offensive coordinator. This would allow the playbook to basically remain the same for back-to-back seasons and avoid having Kirk Cousins learn a new system for the third-straight year in Minnesota.
Whoever the Vikings end up naming as their new offensive coordinator, don’t expect Mike Zimmer’s desires for the unit to change. Zimmer is going to want an offense for Minnesota that centers around their rushing attack and utilizes play-action passes as much as possible.
