2. Mackensie Alexander, cornerback

Just when Mackensie Alexander appeared to be putting it all together, he reached the final year of his contract and could hit the free market unless the Minnesota Vikings can figure out a way to keep him around.

Watching Alexander evolve over his four years in Minnesota has been a lot of fun. He has become one of the team’s best cover corners and is versatile enough to play outside on top receivers or move inside to cover slot receivers or even tight ends.

The Vikings losing both Alexander and Waynes would be a big hit to the secondary, especially with Rhodes being disappointing over the last couple of seasons. Mike Hughes has struggled to stay on the field physically while Holton Hill has been having issues off the field, making their depth questionable.

If Minnesota can move money around, they might be able to keep the cheaper of Alexander and Waynes, but no matter who they can keep, fans should expect the Vikings to look to address the cornerback position early in the 2020 NFL Draft.
