K’Von Wallace – S (Clemson)

Here’s another safety prospect the Vikings should be keeping close tabs on during their week down in Mobile. K’Von Wallace, while lacking ideal size, is a firecracker of a player who can cover tons of acreage in a hurry in the secondary. He also played for the National runner up Clemson Tigers and he has gone up against some of the best players in the country.

This kid will fly in and take out a running back, he’s an excellent blitzer off the edge and he can cover. The most attractive trait of his for the Vikings just might be his versatility. Wallace can play both safety positions and can line up as the nickel back.

With a team that is going to have a revamped looking secondary, and not exactly the funds available to replenish it in free agency, drafting a guy who can fill many roles would be ideal.

Wallace will likely come off the board anywhere from the late second day to some time on Day 3. He’s only 5-foot-11 and that will turn some team’s off. But his energetic play, versatility, and high football intelligence will get him drafted, and playing meaningful snaps early in his NFL career.
