McTelvin Agim – DT (Arkansas)

One of the Vikings’ biggest needs on defense heading into the 2020 offseason is finding a penetrating defensive tackle who can fill that three-technique role on their defensive line.

They didn’t really have one last year with both Linval Joseph and Shamar Stephen more built to stop the run, rather than to penetrate. The closest thing they had was Armon Watts, who flashed at times but is still a work in progress. They could find what they are looking for in Watts’ former teammate McTelvin Agim of Arkansas.

Agim is a guy who has been using the pre-draft process the right way. He stood out during the week of the East-West Shrine Game and he played well in the game itself. So well in fact, that he got an invite to attend the Senior Bowl. Being the competitor he is, he accepted and will look to make his draft stock soar even higher.

Agim is a fun guy to watch on film. He absolutely explodes off the football and is in the backfield before many offensive linemen are even out of their stances. His motor does not stop and he’ll fight and battle to the whistle and maybe even a little bit after.

The biggest concerns about Agim are just his overall strength. He relies so heavily on his quickness and initial burst that he can get overpowered by bigger lineman if they are able to get their mitts on him. So the team that drafts him will want to get him in the weight room early and often.

Agim looks at this point to be a Day 2 prospect. If he impresses at the Senior Bowl the way he did at the East-West Shrine Game, he could be in that late first-round discussion by the time the Combine starts.
