Davion Davis – WR

The Vikings have another promising young wide receiver in the building. Davion Davis spent a portion of the 2019 season on the active roster before being waived and then the Vikings brought him back to the practice squad to end the season. He has superb athleticism as a wide receiver, like Mitchell, and he could work his way into the offense in 2020.

Davis was a superstar in college at Sam Houston State. He caught 226 passes for 3,181 yards and a whopping 40 touchdowns for the Bearkats. His junior season was his breakout campaign, hauling in 78 catches for 1,206 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also carried the ball eight times for 81 yards and two scores that season. He went viral in 2018 with an unbelievable one-handed catch.

Davis may crack the roster solely on his ability as a returner as the Vikings were up and down with special teams play in 2019. With Mike Hughes battling injuries and looking to be a big part of the defense, Minnesota should address the issue.

Davis averaged 25.3 yards per kickoff return in 2017 with a long of 60 yards. He also averaged an outstanding 21.6 yards per punt return that year. He had a long of 54 yards and took two of his 13 returns to the crib. His ability to create as a receiver, returner, and runner gives him a real chance to make the Vikings’ roster next season.
