Josh Jones – OT (Houston)

The Vikings will be looking for offensive line help in the 2020 NFL Draft. Their line was improved this season, but it needs to get even better if the team is going to take the next step and win their conference.

Minnesota needs to find a replacement for Riley Reiff at left tackle. Reiff was up and down in 2019 and while he is still an average NFL tackle, his best years are behind him.

The Vikings surely paid plenty of attention to the offensive tackles at this year’s Senior Bowl and one that had to impress them was probably Josh Jones from Houston.

Jones has impressive size at 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds. He moves extremely well for a man so big and he has the arm length that scouts love to see in a potential future left tackle.

Jones was a man amongst children in the individual drills for the offensive linemen during practice. He continuously shut down the best pass rushers that he lined up against. He showed a nice low base with aggressive arms that he used to punch back his man. Jones rarely lost a battle and his performance generated a ton of buzz regarding his draft stock.

Going into this year’s Senior Bowl, this was a guy who many had pegged as a second or third-round prospect. After getting a good look at him, the Vikings could now consider him in the running for their first-round choice at pick No. 25, especially if there are no quality cornerbacks available when they’re on the clock
