Dane Jackson – CB (Pittsburgh)

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Vikings will probably need to draft multiple cornerbacks. Their cupboard will be very bare due to free agency, some injuries, and potential cap casualties.

This is Minnesota’s most glaring need heading into the 2020 draft season and they were definitely watching the group of corners at this year’s Senior Bowl with great interest.

One player who had to catch their eye was Pittsburgh corner Dane Jackson. Jackson isn’t the biggest guy out there at 6-feet and 180 pounds. But he uses textbook technique to make up for his physical shortcomings.

Jackson stood out in the receiver/corner drills using his quick hips and an impressive backpedal to stay on his man. He also displayed a knack for breaking on the football and timing his jump to go up and knock the ball away before it landed in the mitts of the pass catcher.

Jackson’s eye-popping performance got the attention of every single scout in Mobile. Before the week, he was looked at as a guy who probably would be drafted no earlier than the fifth round. After his week at the Senior Bowl, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him come off the board as early as the third round.
