Joe Burrow – QB (LSU)

Why the heck not? Joe Burrow is one of the better quarterback prospects to enter the draft in recent memory and a surefire lock to be the first overall pick.

He’s got NFL size at 6-foot-4 and 216 pounds. He possesses a strong and accurate arm and he has exceptional awareness in the pocket.

He isn’t a scrambler, but he can create extra time by moving around in the pocket and avoiding pressure. Burrow is accurate while throwing on the run and overall, he has excellent touch on his passes. He’ll be the face of the franchise of the team that drafts him this April.

That team will be the Cincinnati Bengals unless they get an offer that blows them out of the water. The Vikings would have to give up a ton to move up from pick No. 25 all the way to No. 1.

Minnesota would probably have to give up at least three years worth of first-round picks. They’d probably also have to throw in multiple second and third-round selections and a handful of players.

This asking price is probably more than the Vikings would be willing to pay. But maybe they love Burrow that much and they will meet any price the Bengals ask for.

Minnesota would also have to decide whether or not they want to blow things up. The Vikings’ roster is starting to age and their head coach currently has only one year left on his deal. It feels like they could still make one final push with this regime before making a complete overhaul though.

If Minnesota believes Burrow is a once in a lifetime type of quarterback prospect, then why not offer the Bengals a lions’ share and get this guy to build your future around. We already know he looks great in purple and gold.
