Chris Jones – DL

Aside from Danielle Hunter, the Vikings’ defensive line isn’t really full of youth when it comes to the top of the depth chart. Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph are both over 31 and Shamar Stephen will be turning 29 in a few weeks.

During his season-ending press conference, Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer talked about getting younger in 2020 and signing someone like Chris Jones would be a great way to accomplish this.

Jones will turn 26 in July and after four years with the Kansas City Chiefs, he’s turned into one of the most talented defensive linemen in the NFL. In his last two seasons, he’s racked up a total of 24.5 sacks and 76 pressures.

With the ability to line up on the inside and the outside of the defensive line, Jones would be a great addition to the Vikings’ defense. Zimmer would be able to utilize the young pass-rusher’s versatility and create a number of matchup problems for the opposing offense.

If Minnesota decides to part ways with Joseph and Griffen this offseason, signing Jones would certainly make up for the loss of these two talented defensive linemen.
