Anthony Castonzo – LT

It’s been a very long time since the Vikings have had an elite left tackle on their roster. It’s not like Minnesota hasn’t been trying to find one though.

After the disaster that was Matt Kalil, the Vikings have been rolling with Riley Reiff to protect their quarterback’s blindside for the last three seasons. Reiff seemed like a great addition after his first year in Minnesota, but the last two seasons haven’t been anything to brag about.

If the Vikings plan on investing even more money in Kirk Cousins this year by giving him an extension, then they also need an upgrade at left tackle.

Anthony Castonzo is arguably the best left tackle available in the 2020 free-agent pool and he would be a great improvement over Reiff on the left side of the offensive line for Minnesota.

Castonzo is actually slightly older than the Vikings’ current starting left tackle (by a few months), but his talent level is much more encouraging. Castonzo has spent his entire NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, so it might be hard to convince him to sign elsewhere (he’s even considering retirement).

But if the veteran left tackle is looking to join a team that is capable of winning a championship during the next few years, then Minnesota might be a good option for him to consider.
