8 players who should be on the Vikings’ free agency wish list for 2020

Justin Simmons – S
In his first full season as a starter, the Vikings got a great performance out of safety Anthony Harris in 2019. Harris is a free agent this year and many are assuming that Minnesota would love to re-sign him and keep him around for another handful of seasons.
But what if the Vikings could sign a free agent who is even better than Harris? What if they could land a veteran safety who is not only highly skilled in pass coverage, but good at stopping the run as well?
As a starter for the Denver Broncos for the last three years, Justin Simmons has developed into one of the best safeties in the league and he will likely be a top target for a number of teams in free agency this offseason.
Simmons is coming off a year in which he finished with 93 tackles, 15 pass breakups, and four interceptions. He also only allowed his coverage to haul in just 52.8 percent of their targets and opposing quarterbacks posted a pitiful 43.6 rating when tossing passes in the safety’s direction last season.
At 26-years-old, Simmons likely hasn’t even reached his full potential yet. Minnesota adding him to their defense this offseason could result in the unit returning to an elite level in 2020.
