Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs is the subject of growing trade speculation that has cast his future with the franchise into doubt.

Intense speculation continues to surround the future of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs as trade rumors gather pace.

The Vikings star receiver had his ups and downs last season, but he still managed to break the 1,000-yard barrier. His petulance and frustration were evident on the sideline and in the media on multiple occasions which has resulted in people talking about a future for him away from Minnesota.

Diggs is still loved by the Vikings fans and if he leaves, then he has given them plenty of moments that will live long in their memories. No one will ever forget the “Minneapolis Miracle” that saw the Vikings snatch a victory in the final seconds against the New Orleans Saints during the 2017 playoffs.

Despite some believing Diggs has evolved into the stereotypical diva receiver, Minnesota would be far worse off if he was traded away for what should presumably be a king’s ransom from any suitor.

He is the most significant downfield threat the Vikings have had for a number of years and his overall influence within the offense has risen tremendously.

Some extremely difficult decisions await Minnesota this offseason as they look to get over the hump and back in prominent contention for a Super Bowl. What they do with Diggs is a huge part of that and the repercussions will be severe.

So here are five reasons why the Vikings need to keep Diggs around heading into the 2020 season.
