The Minnesota Vikings don’t usually find gems in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, but they have had some luck over the last 10 years.

During the last decade, the Minnesota Vikings haven’t exactly nailed the fifth round of the NFL Draft. They’ve found one superstar and a handful of role players.

If one went back and graded the Vikings’ drafts by round over the last 10 years, there’s a good chance the fifth round would have the worst mark.

It’s a tough round to peg though. It’s at the point in the draft where all the top talent is typically off the board and grades on players vary widely from team to team. Sometimes there really isn’t a big gap between a player who is taken in the fifth round and one who comes off the board in the seventh round.

The fifth round is also the point where some teams quit grabbing the best player available and start addressing needs. This can lessen the value of where some prospects get taken and it ups the bust factor substantially.

That being said, let’s take a look at Minnesota’s best selections in the fifth round of the NFL Draft since 2010.
