Michael Brockers

Former Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers is a formidable force against the run and he has enjoyed a standout career.

The former 14th overall pick out of LSU is 29-years-old, but he still has plenty left to offer if his 2019 play is any indication. Brockers was one of the bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for the Rams, logging 63 total tackles and three sacks.

While he can get to the quarterback on occasion, Brockers main strength is filling up the interior. This makes his skills easily transferable to a defense like Mike Zimmer’s in Minnesota.

Brockers is a similar player to Linval Joseph, so this move probably would not have an adverse effect on Danielle Hunter’s ability to terrorize opposing quarterbacks on a consistent basis. Brockers demands respect and attention on the interior that frees up additional space for outside pass-rushers.

His next deal will likely be the final big contract in Brockers’ career, so he is probably going to want the most money possible this offseason. This represents a significant problem for the Vikings if they have any interest in the defensive tackle.

Minnesota is expected to be really up against it in terms of the moves they can make from a financial perspective this year. Brockers may demand upwards of $8 million per season and that could potentially put the Vikings out of the running.
