Cleveland Browns
Speaking of former Vikings coaches Everson Griffen has a connection to, he should be very familiar with new Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Stefanski was on Minnesota’s coaching staff for Griffen’s entire career and the new guy in charge of Cleveland might be interested in adding a veteran presence to his defensive line for next season.
Currently, the Browns are set with Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon as their starting defensive ends. However, Vernon is a guy some people believe has the potential to be let go by Cleveland this year since none of his 2020 salary is guaranteed.
If this happens, Griffen could be someone Stefanski and the Browns turn to as their new starting defensive end for next season. The veteran pass rusher would not only be reuniting with Stefanski in Cleveland, but he would also get the opportunity to play alongside Browns defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson once again.
With Cleveland already expected to have over $60 million in cap space this year, they shouldn’t have any trouble giving Griffen an offer that could entice him to leave Minnesota.
