6 free-agent kickers the Vikings could sign in 2020

Mason Crosby
Sadly, the headlines if the Vikings signed Mason Crosby would be more about him coming over from the Green Bay Packers instead of the team landing an experienced kicker to fill a hole on the roster.
Even with his green and gold past, Crosby is likely to be one of the top kickers Minnesota pursues if they can’t work out a deal to keep Dan Bailey around. Last year, Crosby connected on over 90 percent of both his field goals and extra points, an accomplishment achieved by only three kickers available in free agency this offseason.
Crosby missed only one extra point for the Packers in 2019 and he connected on 91.7 percent of field goals, including a season-long conversion from 54 yards out. With that kind of conversion rate, he is bound to get a good contract somewhere this offseason.
Competition for his services could price the Vikings out of contention for his services. Last year, he had a cap hit of $4.85 million and if he’s looking for a similar deal for 2020, he would no longer be a realistic option for Minnesota.
