Griffen’s locker room presence

Everson Griffen dispelled the myths regarding his character coming out of college to become one of the Vikings’ most prominent locker room leaders during his career.

Griffen is a passionate figure who commands the respect of his teammates with an infectious desire to get better and a fierce will to win. This is going to be incredibly hard to replace if he moves on to a new team this year.

This responsibility has not come easy for Griffen and it is one he has developed over time. This took a step back when he was away from the team in 2018. But he came back strong after working on his mental health and it only increased the level of esteem to which he is held in Minnesota.

Griffen is a born winner who demands nothing but the best from his teammates. He leads by example on the field and he does not take kindly to those who do not put in the same level of effort given by the defensive end on every play.

When one combines this with Griffen’s production in his career, then he is sure to be a coveted free agent this offseason. One would think a wealth of NFL teams will look to someone like him for a short-term fix and instant veteran leadership that could get them over the hump.

Any potential team will have to meet Griffen’s expectations, as he is calling his own shots in this situation.
