Bryan Bulaga

The likelihood of Bryan Bulaga leaving the Green Bay Packers for their fierce NFC North this offseason rivals seems slim. But if he isn’t given a franchise tag and he heads into free agency, signing him is something the Vikings should explore at the very least.

Bulaga has long been regarded as one of the best right tackles in the NFL. He has lived up to his hype after being selected with the 23rd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft despite a few years with injury problems.

There will be no shortage of suitors for Bulaga should he become available and it would represent a devastating blow to Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This alone should make him a prime candidate for Minnesota in free agency and do their chances of winning back the NFC North crown in 2020 a world of good.

The 30-year-old has outstanding hands at the point of attack and his presence on the Vikings’ roster would leave them with the opportunity to move the exceptional Brian O’Neill to the left tackle position.

Bulaga has a market value that is expected to land him a deal this offseason that pays him around $10 million per year. This might be more than Minnesota is willing to pay and one has to question whether Bulaga would want to detrimentally impact his time at the Packers and the esteem to which he is held in Green Bay by making such a controversial move.
