Vikings will find themselves in the news a lot in Indianapolis

When it comes to Minnesota at this year’s Combine, not all of the action will be on the field. As mentioned before, several players have their names in contract talks or trade rumors and with the Vikings needing to do something to clear cap room and fill holes throughout the roster, this week figures to be more than a simple scouting trip.

One of the biggest recent storylines has been the trade drama surrounding Stefon Diggs, who currently ranges from just being himself on social media to trying to get on the next plane out of Minnesota.

As the Combine strolls along with executives and coaches under one roof, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that the Vikings had talked to someone or at least see another cryptic tweet on  Diggs’ Twitter account.

Rick Spielman and company will also likely meet with agents of some of the players they want to retain on a lower salary or re-sign altogether for 2020. In addition to Everson Griffen’s representation, Minnesota will probably meet with Anthony Harris‘ agents about a new deal while also meeting with the agents for Linval Joseph, Riley Reiff, and others to try to make something happen so they can’t completely sit on their hands in free agency this offseason.

This week’s Combine will be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what happens in the Vikings’ offseason. If and of these bold predictions come true, it could lead up to an eventful couple of months for Minnesota heading into training camp.
