Jalen Hurts – QB (Oklahoma)

Jalen Hurts is a quarterback the Vikings should be interested in. He’s kind of the anti-Kirk Cousins as he has plenty of mobility and he is a threat to run any time he has the ball.

Going into the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine, there were questions about whether or not he’d even be a quarterback in the pros and if he could possibly switch to playing receiver. He put those concerns to rest as he worked out as a quarterback and did so very well.

Hurts ran his 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds while also finishing with a 35-inch vertical jump and a 125-inch broad jump. That’s exceptional athletic ability for a man who is 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds.

Hurts also threw the ball well during the Combine. He showed plenty of arm strength and he was very accurate on the majority of his throws.

Where Hurts impressed the most and what really boosted his stock was his ability to show his football intelligence. In an interview with the NFL Network’s Steven Mariucci, Hurts perfectly dissected the offensive plays he was drawing up. He also pointed out what the defense was doing and how he should attack it.

Word has it that is how the majority of his one-on-one interviews went and this answered one of the biggest questions about this kid.

Hurts is a proven winner and he plays with a lot of heart. Factor this in with his impressive performance at the Combine and this guy has secured himself a spot in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft.
