Kyle Dugger – S (Lenoir-Rhyne)

If Anthony Harris doesn’t re-sign with the Vikings, safety shoots way up the team’s needs list this offseason.

A guy who improved his stock at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine is a small school stallion in Kyle Dugger from somewhere called Lenoir-Rhyne. His performance definitely should’ve caught the attention of Minnesota’s scouts and coaches and they could peg him as a potential replacement for Harris.

Dugger put himself on the map at the Senior Bowl back in January. He showed he could hang with the big boys and he was a fluid mover who showed good coverage skills. Dugger is 6-foot-1 which gives him the height to match up with receivers and tight ends that he could be lined up against in the NFL.

Dugger wowed with a 40-yard dash time of 4.49 seconds. That’s a very good time for a guy his height who weighs in at 217 pounds. He put up 225 pounds on the bench press 17 times in addition to his 42-inch vertical jump and a 134-inch broad jump.

This kid proved he is an elite athlete and he has the speed and quickness to cover lots of ground in the secondary in a hurry.

Heading into this year’s Combine, Dugger was seen as a late second round to early third-round choice. His workout should jump him solidly into the second round and he could be a guy the Vikings target if they acquire an earlier second-round choice in a trade down scenario.
