Derrick Henry – RB

In recent years, the Vikings defense has been very good against the run. While they weren’t as successful against it a year ago, even when they were shutting teams down, one type of back has always seemed to give them problems and that is the physical, bruising-type of running back.

When the Chicago Bears had Jordan Howard on their roster, he always was able to pound it up the middle against Minnesota and end up with impressive numbers. The same can be said for the Seattle Seahawks when the Vikings had trouble last season with the physical duo of Chris Carson and even Rashaad Penny.

In the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota struggled to contain Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman in the backfield and man would the Vikings hate to see Derrick Henry end up in the NFC North this year.

Henry is coming off a huge season for the Tennessee Titans in which he carried the team on a deep playoff run. This guy is one of the most physical runners in the entire NFL and he loves to wear down defenses.

He always seems to get better as the game goes on and this is typically because his opponents are sick of getting run over by him play-after-play. Minnesota would struggle at trying to contain Henry and they would hate to have to face him twice a year.

The Detroit Lions could use a physical back like Henry to pair with Kerryon Johnson next season. This duo would be tough to stop and they could potentially help the Lions become contenders once again in the NFC North. For the Vikings’ sake, let’s hope this doesn’t happen.
