Taylor Gabriel – WR

Taylor Gabriel was recently released by the Chicago Bears and he would be a good option for the Vikings.

Although the undrafted player is somewhat prone to injury, there is no doubting his ability when he gets a consistent run of games. In 2019, Gabriel caught 29 of his 48 targets for 353 yards and four touchdowns.

Minnesota will be looking to add depth to the wide receiver position other than the star tandem of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Gabriel is suited to line up in the slot, he has good hands, and he possesses an explosive element to his game.

The 29-year-old had a breakout year in Chicago in 2018, putting up career-best marks in catches (67) and receiving yards (688). He showed glimpses of promise during his tenures with the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns before eventually moving on from both.

Gabriel would come on the cheap and he would probably accept a contract that paid him in the region of $2 million annually. He might also be keen on a one-year, incentive-based deal given his injury history and the chance to join a prolific Vikings offense he saw first-hand last season.

Any role in Gary Kubiak’s scheme would be rotational as Minnesota’s third receiver. With so much focus on running back Dalvin Cook, Diggs, and Thielen, Gabriel might thrive with additional space to work with providing he can stay healthy.
