Mike Glennon – QB

If the Vikings decide to wait until 2021 to draft a quarterback, then they will need a good understudy for Kirk Cousins next season.

Mike Glennon failed miserably with the Bears, but he is a more than capable backup and one of the better free-agent quarterback options available.

Glennon signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Raiders last year and he did not see much of the field (23 snaps), but he played well during the brief moments he was under center. He might seek a more favorable spot to compete as a starter this offseason.

Given how many teams are going to be changing quarterbacks this year, Glennon might have to wait to get another opportunity. Minnesota will need a dependable second option for next season though in the event Cousins is injured.

Glennon has a 60.9 percent career completion percentage to go with 5,163 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. He is similar to Cousins in many ways and he would be the ideal replacement if the Vikings starter went down.

Cousins is heading into the final year of his $84 million contract and he will count a whopping $31 million against Minnesota’s cap next season. Any second-string passer will have to come on the cheap and it remains to be seen whether a one-year, $2 million deal would be enough for the Vikings to convince Glennon to try a new challenge.
