6 free-agent linebackers the Vikings could sign in 2020

Jatavis Brown
Jatavis Brown is one of the lesser-known names on this list, but he was very productive early in his NFL career.
Brown entered the league in 2016 as a fifth-round pick of the then, San Diego Chargers. In his first three seasons with the Chargers, he racked up nearly 260 tackles with 4.5 sacks and 12 pass breakups. He is an extremely athletic linebacker who can cover a ton of ground in a hurry and close in on a ball carrier within seconds.
For whatever reason, Brown lost favor with the Chargers last season. He fell down the depth chart and he often found himself as a healthy scratch on game days. He’ll be glad to find a new home and at just 26-years-old, he has plenty of football left in him.
With Kentrell Brothers likely gone in free agency this offseason, the Vikings will be looking for a new special teams stud and this could be Brown. He’s an athletic freak and he can hustle down the field in a hurry.
He’d fill this need for Minnesota and potentially push for a starting job. Brown could end up being out of the Vikings’ price range. But if they are able to sign him, he’d be a great asset to their defense.
