Paul Worrilow

Paul Worrilow was the Miley Cyrus of the league at one point because he came in like a wrecking ball. He was an undrafted free agent back in 2013 with the Atlanta Falcons and he had an impressive 127 tackles as a rookie.

He followed that season with an eye-popping 142 tackles in his second year and he looked bound for stardom. He took a slight step back during year three in Atlanta with 95 tackles and then disaster struck.

Worrilow strained his groin in 2016 and it ended up requiring surgery. This cost him four games and he just never could regain his old form.

He wasn’t re-signed by the Falcons in 2017 and he latched on with the Detroit Lions. Worrilow started eight games for the Lions and he had 30 tackles. But he then sprained his MCL and it forced him to miss three matchups. The following year as a member of the Eagles, he tore his ACL in OTAs and he missed the entire 2018 season.

After a short retirement, Worrilow signed with the New York Jets last November. He played in four games with the Jets, but he didn’t register any stats. If Worrilow decides to continue his NFL career in 2020, the Vikings are a team that could be interested.

Worrilow has shown he’s a solid player when healthy. He is still only 29-years-old and he could be determined to get back to the production level he had early in his career.

His lengthy injury history and the fact he already retired once will drive his price down, making him an affordable veteran backup linebacker option for Minnesota.
