After missing all but three games during the 2019 season with a groin injury, Matt Bosher will be looking to get back into the punting game this year. He will be turning 33 this year and he will need to prove he is ready to return to the field if he wants to continue his football career. Although, he could be someone who is still around in the late stages of free agency this offseason.

A former sixth-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Bosher has been with the Atlanta Falcons since entering the league. Since then, he has handled kickoff duties, holding on field goals, and punting while also serving as the emergency kicker.

Atlanta could be looking to get Bosher back since his replacement, Ryan Allen, was only signed to a one-year deal. If that’s the case, there’s a chance he won’t even be available when free agency actually arrives. However, cutting his contract short may leave a bad taste in his mouth.

A cap hit of over $2.5 million in 2019 shows he might be priced a bit out of the range the Vikings can afford. But if some of the other punters and holders start getting signed and the purple and gold have to scramble, they could find themselves opening their wallets for Bosher.
