Demarcus Robinson – WR

The Vikings need some depth at the wide receiver position behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Demarcus Robinson may be an option worth considering if the price is right.

He demonstrated glimpses of his promise in 2019 for a Kansas City Chiefs team that went on to win a Super Bowl. Robinson caught 32 of 55 targets for 449 yards and four touchdowns during the season.

The 25-year-old is one of the quickest players in the NFL and he demonstrated his electrifying burst on more than one occasion. Robinson filled in well for Tyreek Hill when he missed time with an injury last year and he is an intriguing free agent that the Chiefs might not have the funds to keep.

Robinson was on the field for 70 percent of Kansas City’s offensive snaps in 2019. He has three years of experience under his belt and he would be a frightening prospect in the slot for a Minnesota offense that is littered with talent.

Whether the Vikings have the financial resources to make a deal is another matter. Robinson earned just over $2 million last season and he has enough encouraging film to command a larger deal this year.

Given his speed, improving hands, and ability to make big plays out of nothing, Robinson could be a hot commodity in free agency this offseason. This could drive the price up and that would be bad news if Minnesota is looking to acquire his services.
