How much better can Danielle Hunter get in 2020?
By Dean Jones
Minnesota Vikings stud pass-rusher Danielle Hunter is one of the most dominant players in the NFL. But can he get even better in 2020?
The Minnesota Vikings have a truly dynamic pass-rusher in Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter.
The 25-year-old has evolved from a raw third-round pick into one of the key cogs in a Vikings’ defensive scheme that relies on him heavily to make plays.
Hunter has thrived with the extra responsibility over the last two seasons, racking up 29 sacks on his way to becoming universally feared throughout the NFL. The former LSU standout is heading into the prime of his career, so there is no telling what heights he can raise his game to in the future.
Minnesota knew his importance to the franchise long-term. This saw Hunter rewarded for his outstanding production with a five-year, $72 million deal that included $40 million guaranteed and a lofty $15 million signing bonus.
While moves like this have come with mixed success for the Vikings with other star players, the same cannot be said of Hunter. He continues to evolve his game and produce a level of consistency that is rare in a defensive lineman.
Minnesota found a real diamond in Hunter, who is a supreme influence on the field and he manages to inspire others around him. The sky is the limit if he continues to find ways to elevate his game.
