Best and worst Minnesota Vikings third-round picks of last decade

Scott Crichton – DE (2014)
When the Vikings landed Scott Crichton in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, many fans were excited and the pick was getting lauded by numerous analysts. The reason for that jubilation was that many had Crichton pegged as a first-round talent.
Crichton was super productive during his college career at Oregon State as he accumulated 100 tackles and a very impressive 23.5 sacks.
He was seen as a hard-working, high energy type of player and Minnesota figured they got themselves a player who could make an impact as a rookie. They couldn’t have been further from the truth.
Crichton was a huge bust for the Vikings and he just wasn’t the player in the pros that he was in college.
As a rookie, he appeared in just eight games and he only registered two tackles. The following season he played in 13 games, but his stats still didn’t improve much. He had only eight tackles and again no sacks.
Minnesota released Crichton after the 2015 season. He was later picked up by the Buffalo Bills, but he couldn’t pass after his arrival.
It’s a bit baffling for a guy as talented as Crichton was that he couldn’t become a consistent pass-rushing threat in the NFL.
