Seventh Round (Pick No. 219): Colton McKivitz,  OT – West Virginia

Hoping that Colton McKivitz is still on the board when the Minnesota Vikings pick in the seventh round might be a bit of a dream, but considering he is the 224th best prospect on CBS Sports list, there is still going to be a chance.

McKivitz will drop on the boards of some teams because of his shorter arms and lower body tightness, but there is no denying that he has the grit and determination to succeed in the NFL. On tape, he shows a mean streak that fans love to see and can use his hands well to push defenders off their path.

Keep in mind that as far as prospects go, McKivitz is among one of the safest in this year’s draft. As a four-year starter at left tackle in college who stands 6’6 and weighs 306 pounds, he could become a starter one day or even settle in as a solid swing tackle.

In the seventh round, teams are basically looking at guys who they think can make the team and continue to grow and develop. McKivitz is a hard worker who has the mindset teams want in a left tackle but will need some time to hone those skills for the NFL.
