New York Giants

The New York Giants are in need of some veteran help at cornerback and Xavier Rhodes might be on their radar.

Rookie DeAndre Baker showed glimpses of good production during his first NFL season in 2019. He is expected to come on in his sophomore year, but they were burned all too often on the back end last season.

The glitz and glamour of New York will be an attractive proposition for Rhodes, who has the potential to thrive in the Big Apple. The media capital of the world is an unforgiving place for underperforming players and the player would be subject to serious scrutiny if he continues his steady decline.

This is something Rhodes did not experience to a great extent with the Minnesota Vikings. Any move to the Giants would need the cornerback to hit the ground running in order to avoid further complications down the line.

There is no doubt Rhodes still has something to offer, providing he sees this as an opportunity to make a fresh start of things in a new environment. Landing in the right spot is crucial and it is clear the Giants have a lot of talent that could be set for bigger and better things in 2020.

They have a new head coach, a star running back in Saquon Barkley and a quarterback in Daniel Jones who showed he can be a starter in the NFL with a better offensive line. Their defense needs a lot of work, which is where someone like Rhodes would come in.
